Brokerage Event for the Second Call for Working Groups

Please join us for a Brokerage Event for the Second Call for Working Groups on Friday 23 May 2025 14h-16h30 CEST!

 

Offering an opportunity for proposers of new Working Groups to present their Expressions of Interest (EoIs) and connect with the wider CoARA community, the Brokerage Event aims to:

  • Encourage reflection on the EoIs in preparation for submission of a full proposal;
  • Foster connections, launch collaboration, and help identify potential new partners;
  • Avoid duplication and promote synergies, including the potential for merging similar or complementary proposals.

 

The Brokerage Event is tailored to proposals for new Working Groups as a key step in the staged application process, which includes:

  • Submission of Expressions of Interest (mandatory for new Working Groups by the 20th of May 2025 
  • Community exchange via an online brokerage event on the 23rd of May 2025 
  • Submission of full proposals by 12 June 2025.  

 

The event will begin with a welcome session, introducing the call, and a brief overview of the call topics. These include, among others:

  • Core Commitment 4: Avoiding the use of university rankings in research assessment; 
  • Qualitative assessment guidance and frameworks, including methods combining qualitative and quantitative elements; 
  • Assessment of team science and interdisciplinary, intersectoral, or multisectoral contributions, including roles outside academia.

Each EoI will then be presented in a brief 5-minute pitch by the proposers, followed by open discussion with other participants. The goal is to create a collaborative and constructive space for exchange.

For existing Working Groups interested in applying for a one-year extension under this call, participation in the brokerage event is optional. These groups are not required to submit an EoI but are encouraged to connect with the community where relevant.

The event will conclude with a wrap-up session, summarising the key points of discussion and highlighting opportunities for continued exchange and collaboration in the run-up to the full proposal deadline.
