Call for candidates for CoARA Chair, Vice-Chair(s) and other Steering Board Members

The Interim Secretariat of the Coalition for Advancing Research Assessment (CoARA), composed of the European University Association, Science Europe, and the European Commission, has launched today a call for candidates for the positions of Chair, Vice-Chair(s) and other Steering Board members of the CoARA.

Candidacies will be presented and voted upon during the Constitutive Assembly (i.e. the first General Assembly of the CoARA), which will take place online on 1st December 2022.

The Steering Board will be responsible for the overall oversight, strategy, work plan and sustainability of the CoARA. It will provide the environment to support the participation of the member organisations, and the work of the Working Groups and General Assembly of Members. It will also ensure that the organisational perspective remains focused on the longer term aims of the CoARA.

Any prospective CoARA member organisation can nominate one of its employees, or other persons affiliated or having a contractual relation with them, as candidate. Only nominations from organisations that will have signed the Agreement on Reforming Research Assessment by 17 November 2022 and whose CoARA membership will be confirmed by the time of the Constitutive Assembly, will be considered eligible. For more information about the membership of the CoARA, please consult the FAQs “Who can sign the Agreement and join the Coalition?” and “How to join the Coalition?”.

The deadline to submit candidacies is 17 November 2022 (Midnight CET / Brussels time). Submissions should be made via e-mail to the addresses indicated in the call for candidacies.
